This is my favorite workshop to teach! Play with altering wheel thrown pots at different stages to create oval or squared forms. We will combine wheel thrown elements with slabs to make vessels, functional serving pieces, and lidded jars. Basic wheel throwing and hand-building skills helpful, but this is a great workshop for working with students at different levels of experience. More skilled students can play with larger forms and further explore lidded jars and casseroles. Handles, surface decoration and composition will also be explored. Students will work with stoneware (cone 6-10) and should bring packing materials to take home their greenware pieces. Firing not included. Maximum 8 students.
